Slinger Signaller training enables the safe direction of the crane operators ensuring the safety of the operators, and any other workers.
Slinger Signaller training is designed for candidates who have little or no experience of the Signaller and Slinger role. This course will provide delegates with the basic knowledge of activities associated with the combined roles and the safety & regulatory requirements of those activities.
The course is aimed at personnel wishing to be involved with the slinging of loads and signalling of cranes. It is also beneficial to line management, HSE advisors and other personnel with a responsibility for safe crane lifting operations.
Course Content
- Understand relevant legislation applicable to lifting operations
- Identify common unsafe practices and probable consequences
- Relate to crane lifting related incidents
- To understand basic functions of a crane
- Be familiar with crane hand and radio signals
- Understand lifting operation risk assessment
- Recognise and understand responsibilities of a signaller/slinger
- Understand safe and correct methods of slinging loads, correct use, and care of equipment (includes pre-use examination of equipment and identification of defects)
- Practical training including team-based exercises with a mobile crane, lifting equipment and various lifts.
Assessment: Oral questions throughout the course, theoretical paper and practical assessment of slinging and signalling techniques applicable to the site; including team-based exercises
Certification: Valid for 2 years

Certification: On completion of training you will receive an A4 ITSSAR certificate providing all relevant certification information.
