Who Should Attend – This course is aimed at giving an introduction to Slinger/Banksman training which will provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to safely carry out basic Slinger/Banksman operations.

Course Aims – For delegates to have a basic understanding of slinging and signalling.

Course Content –

• Understand relevant legislation applicable to lifting operations
• Identify common unsafe practices and probable consequences
• Relate to crane lifting related incidents
• Understand basic functions of a crane
• Understand crane hand and radio signals
• Understand lifting operation risk assessment
• Understand responsibilities of a Slinger/Banksman
• Understand safe and correct methods of slinging loads, correct use and care of equipment (includes pre-use examination of equipment and identification of defects)
• Practical training including team based exercises

General Information – Delegates will be required to supply the necessary PPE (Hard hat, hi-viz, coveralls, safety boots and gloves for the practical element of training.
