Carl Wright Training Services unaccredited LEEA Gantry Crane training course is held at our Lowestoft based training centre and covers all aspects of LEEA gantry crane use at work.
Course information
Course Title – LEEA Gantry Crane (3 Day Novice & 1 Day Refresher) – £595.00 & £350.00 – per delegate
Accreditation/Certification – LEEA accreditation and Certificate (2 years)
Who Should Attend – This course is designed for people who have little or no formal training or experience in the operation of overhead gantry cranes.
Course Aims – This course will familiarise delegates with the basic skill requirements and job safety knowledge required for safe and effective operation of Gantry and Overhead Cranes.

- Introduction to the course & Aims
- Operators Safety Code
- Current Legislation, including:
- Health & Safety at Work Act Etc 1974
- LOLER, Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998
- PUWER, Provision and Use of Working Equipment Regulations 1998
- Pre use inspection of crane/equipment & Maintenance
- Safe Operations of Gantry Cranes
- Lifting plans
- Introduction to Work Equipment, including Specific hazards & controls
- Daily Safety Checks & Maintenance
- Raising, Transporting & landing a Load
- Basic Slinging & Signals
- Knowledge Examination
- Stability
- Permit to work procedure
- Lifting equipment recognition
- Hazards involving angles and de-ratings
- Lifting equipment configurations
General Information – Delegates will be required to wear the necessary PPE (hard hat, hi-viz, safety boots and gloves for the practical part of the training.
