At Carl Wright Training Services, we provide ITSSAR-accredited forklift training courses in Lowestoft, providing operators with the skills they need.
If your business uses forklift trucks, making sure operators have the right training isn’t just good practice, it’s an important part of maintaining a safe workplace. Our forklift training courses are suitable for a range of experience levels. If you’re completely new to operating a counterbalance forklift truck, our novice training provides the essential knowledge and practical skills you’ll need to get you started. But we also train experienced operators who’ve used forklift trucks previously but haven’t received formal training recently and who need to get their skills up to standard.
For established operators who already hold an accredited certificate, we provide periodic counterbalance forklift refresher training courses. Regular refresher training is a useful way of reinforcing safe working practices and making sure operators continue to use their skills correctly.
Training covers both the theory behind forklift operation and practical application. Course participants learn about the responsibilities of employers and employees under the Health & Safety at Work Act, as well as the operating principles of counterbalance forklift trucks. Understanding stability and instability is an important part of our forklift training courses, as is learning how to interpret the rated capacity plate and assess loads before attempting to move them.
We also look at potentially hazardous ground conditions, the importance of carrying out pre-use checks and the role of appropriate maintenance. Practical training gives delegates the opportunity to put their knowledge into practice, including carrying out those forklift pre-use checks, assessing loads, developing basic steering and manoeuvring skills and operating the forklift truck safely around a set course.
On successful completion of their forklift training course, delegates receive ITSSAR accreditation, along with a certificate and ID card. For the practical element of the course, appropriate PPE is required, including a hard hat, hi-viz clothing, safety boots and gloves.
Whether you’re introducing a new operator to forklift trucks or arranging refresher training for an experienced member of your team, we’re here to help. Our counterbalance forklift truck training courses provide practical, relevant instruction for safer operation in the workplace.
